The AWS-CI1354 water softener uses traditional ion exchange technology. Ions on the resin will absorb calcium and magnesium ions in water, removing scales and reducing water hardness. Compared with tap water, soft water has a high oxygen content and low hardness. Thus it can prevent lithiasis and relieve heart and kidney burdens. The two-part AWS-CI1354 water softener features a design in which the main system is separate from the brine tank. One part of the softener is compact in size and thus suitable for different installation conditions, such as limited cabinet size or small bathrooms. Since the separate brine tank can be moved and turned upside down, dust, water impurities, or crystallized salt water deposits which can build up a salt bridge in the tank, can be thoroughly cleaned. The extra-large design of the tank allows for the single adding of softening salt, eliminating problems caused by frequently adding salt. Various sizes allow for different installation options, such as under counter, in utility rooms and the basement.

The combined down flow and up flow resin regeneration technology. Traditional water softeners only feature the down flow regeneration technology, i.e. water flows through the resin bed in one direction. Although softening results are achieved, factors such as water pressure and flow rate may lead to incomplete softening. However, even more profound is that no water reaches the bottom of the resin bed. The up flow regeneration technology solves this problem. Water flows up from the bottom through the resin bed.
